CEFR as the Guideline

Candidate raw scores (example):

Reading raw = 13.00 → Reading band (lookup) = 7.00

Listening raw = 11.00 → Listening band = 6.00

Writing raw = 25.00 → Writing band = 6.00

Speaking raw = 65.00 → Speaking band = 7.00

Step A

Overall band

Sum section bands:

7.00 + 6.00 + 6.00 + 7.00 = 26.00

Average:

26.00 ÷ 4 = 6.50.  → Overall IELP band = 6.50.

(Shown values rounded to two decimal places in the
report)

Step B

Skill breakdown (percent)

Sum section bands:

7.00 + 6.00 + 6.00 + 7.00 = 26.00

Average:

26.00 ÷ 4 = 6.50.  → Overall IELP band = 6.50.

(Shown values rounded to two decimal places in the
report)

Question distribution and item weighting principles

(CEFR as the Guideline)

1.Each section sources items from CEFR levels A1 → C2.

2. Item metadata: every item tagged by CEFR level, skill, sub-skill (e.g., gist, detail, inference), topic, estimated difficulty, and exposure count.

3. Item rotation: a large rotating bank prevents reuse; anchor items used for calibration; no repeated items for the same candidate.
