8.1-9.0 Excellent Excellent control. Very fluent, broad & precise vocabulary, minimal grammar errors, strong coherence, natural rhythm & intonation.
7.1-8.0 Very Good Very good. Fluent with rare hesitation, wide range of vocabulary, minor errors, well-organized, clear pronunciation.
6.1-7.0 Good Good. Mostly fluent, adequate vocabulary range, some errors but meaning clear, logical organization, minor pronunciation/intonation issues.
5.1-6.0 Competent Competent. Occasional pauses, vocabulary sufficient for most tasks, noticeable grammar errors but generally accurate, some cohesion lapses, accent noticeable but does not impede understanding.
4.1-5.0 Modest Modest. Hesitant, limited vocabulary range, frequent grammar errors, basic organization, pronunciation sometimes unclear.
3.1-4.0 Limited Limited. Often pauses to search for words, basic vocabulary only, grammar errors frequent and distracting, organization weak, pronunciation causes occasional difficulty.
2.1-3.0 Extremely Limited Extremely limited. Very slow speech, minimal vocabulary, persistent grammar errors, incoherent ideas, pronunciation often unclear.
1.1-2.0 Intermittent Intermittent. Can produce isolated words, extremely limited vocabulary and grammar, frequent breakdowns in communication.
0.1-1.0 Very Poor No real communication possible, only memorized words or phrases, major pronunciation issues.
